What does Oxevision do?
Oxevision helps staff to keep their patients safe and improve physical health monitoring by providing them with:
1. Spot-check pulse rate and breathing rate observations without entering a patient's room and disturbing them, especially at night when they are asleep. These are referred to as “vital signs”.1
2. Real-time movement alerts.2 Oxevision's location and activity based warnings and alerts provide additional insights, so that staff can head off potentially harmful situations and proactively offer support and engagement. For example, an elderly patient trying to get out of bed. These notifications are tailored to the needs of your ward.
3. Reports that staff can use to support care planning. For example, Vital Signs Trends1 and data on overnight activity and sleep opportunity to inform how care plans might need to be adapted the following day2.
In combination, these features can help you to reduce patient disturbance from regular safety checks, enhance patient safety, and help to increase your time to care for those who need it most. Feedback from staff is that they feel they can have more meaningful interactions which improve their relationship with patients.
According to Oxehealth's partners, patients report feeling safer on the ward and they get a better night’s sleep as they are disturbed less. It enables staff to give them space and independence when they need it, while also giving them peace of mind that staff can be there in person when they might need them.
Find out more on each of these features in the following modules.
1 The Vital Signs software is regulated as a class IIa medical device in the UK & Europe. It is intended for non-invasive spot measurements of pulse rate (50 to 130 ± 3 beats per minute) and estimated breathing rate (8 to 39 ± 2 breaths per minute). It does not provide alerting or alarms for vital signs. The Vital Signs Trends chart is a feature within the Vital Signs software which shows a summary of average vital signs to assist trend identification and cannot be used to measure or monitor pulse rate or breathing rate. It is a fixed-installed solution for use within single occupancy rooms within hospitals, general care, and secured environments where a framework exists which mandates periodic checks by a trained professional to ensure subject safety. See Instructions for Use for intended use, contraindications, warnings, cautions, usage directions and maintenance.
2 The Activity Tracker software (including the activity detection, fall risk, activity tracker and sleep products) is a Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) which is not classified as a medical device in the UK, Europe or USA. See Instructions for Use for intended use, contraindications, warnings, cautions, usage directions and maintenance.
