How does Oxevision work?
Each healthcare provider who adopts Oxevision clearly defines how the system is to be used by staff as part of day-to-day care on the ward. This includes what the system can and cannot be used for. If you are ever unsure, please refer to your organisation's appropriate policies and procedures.
The following module outlines what you will see on the Oxevision screen and how to interact with the system.
Each room installed with Oxevision is denoted by a “tile” on the overview screen. The information displayed on the tile includes the location of the activity in the room (which indicates where a person is in the room), how long their activity has been detected in that location, plus the last time a vital signs observation was taken using Vital Signs.
Some examples are shown below:
- White: The room is “Empty” or the system is determining the room status
- Green: The room is occupied and there are no active notifications. It may display the text “In Room” or “In Bed”
- Amber: The room is in a warning state or “Paused”
- Red: The room in an alert state.
IMPORTANT: It can take up to 40 seconds for the system to change between room states although it is often much quicker. For example, when a patient first exits the room, the room tile will continue to show “In Room” for up to 40 seconds before turning to "Empty".
More information on alerts and warnings can be found in the “alerts and warnings" module.
To access additional Oxevision features, staff can click on a room tile to bring up the action menu. The options available will depend on the features switched on for that ward.
