  • Warnings vs Alerts
  1. If a room tile for a private room turns orange, this means a visual warning has been triggered on the Oxevision system for that room.
  2. If a room tile for a private room turns red, this means a visual and audible alert has been triggered and must be manually disabled by a member of staff by pressing ‘Reset’ on the Alerts panel on any Oxevision device.
  • Oxevision is a supportive tool. You should never rely solely on the system to ensure patient safety and always carry out your usual in-person safety checks. If an alert or warning is triggered on an Oxevision device, use your clinical judgement and organisation's protocols to determine your next action.
  • Warnings and Alerts are configured depending on your organisation unit type. Please speak to your unit manager to understand what warnings and alerts you have enabled.
  • In order to obtain a Vital Signs reading, the patient must be still and the blue blobs which represent where the system is taking its pulse rate and breathing rate measurements from MUST be touching the patient’s body. You may see one or two blobs on the screen, either is normal but please note that if the system has placed one blob on the screen you are likely to only get either a pulse rate or breathing rate. If the system places 2 blobs on the screen you will get both a pulse rate and breathing rate.
  • The Vital Signs Trends chart can provide additional insight into the patient’s recent physical health and allow staff to see if changes to a patient's pulse or breathing rate requires further investigation. The red and blue dots show the readings you have taken using the vital signs workflow. Please remember that the chart may show data from other people that have entered the room.
  • Oxevision will not alert to any high, low or abnormal vital signs measurements.
  • Oxevision does not provide warnings associated with vital signs; they are spot-check measurements taken by a member of staff.
